I made a thread on African history. You can start by looking up Wikipedia articles or documentaries in YouTube about those guys.

Here's the thread. I actually need to update it with a post about Ida B. Wells, my favorite black woman in history.

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-official-african-history-thread.79221/
I'll look it up, thanks

Yea I feel you...I have some articles I can send you via pm which are about 20 pages each...will that help?
yea sure

The Forest Where Hope Died
@LarryLobster This book is mandatory reading for anyone trying to learn more about our history. J. A. Rogers was one of the first black historians to really research and write on African history. I believe it was Garvey who said because of the works of Rogers, black finally started to learn to love themselves.

A documentary that will teach you a lot is A Great and Mighty Walk by John Henricke Clark

There's also the BBC series called lost kingdoms of Africa. My favorite were on Mali, Nubia, and Ethiopia.

After you learn about our history, read this book. Most important book a black man can read. My girl just recently started reading it.

Also Michael Palins Sahara series on YouTube is just as good as bbcs African kingdoms

Best book I've read on the subject; had to read it in Masters program, hopefully you can find a library to check it out

Good shyt, what else you got cause I doubt I'll find this easy.

I can't find shyt about that history or african history in general in these libraries.

Only book I could find about Mansa Musa in the whole county was a children's picture book

.edu websites, man.

also, the Almoravid dynasty = Black Moors specifically if you want to tune some of the irrelevant Arab caliphates out.

I was just about to at these cats. @LarryLobster I'm more versed in African American History. While I disagree about the 'blackness' of the African presence in other countries with these guys. They are more versed in Genetics & Anthropology. They call what I believe ignorant but I just use common sense & don't hold strictly to the words or cacology. The reason for this & @Blackking pointed it out in the HL thread is how much they have hidden & lied about African History...I just can't take their word on it anymore. I come to my own common sense conclusions on what I believe. These guys believe African History is pretty much anything that goes directly back to Africa on a DNA tip...yet they deny Artifacts, language, and cultural similarities.

The more you learn about our history, the more you'll understand what I'm saying. I really wish more money was put into learning the text of Timbuktu. I believe that library there holds some important info that would clear up tons of misconceptions & disagreements we all have amongst each other. Nevertheless, its all love with these guys & they have tons of research to get you started. Once you focus on African American History...@ me again and I'll offer more. They've put a lot on your plate already.

I cannot thank @kp404 enough because of you this past year I have learned tons of details on our history throughout the Diaspora(I finished the Leopold book last week btw) that I did not know before.....I stopped being able to keep up with the books you recommended so much that I had to use my usb flash drive to make a list of the books to purchase and read....

thanks for the knowledge you have been enriching all of us with beyond us just listening to a rap verse and watching Hidden Colors and pretending to be experts .... :salute: keep up the good work for your community and online ...I am certain those students you helped when you were in the Atlanta pulic schools are all on to do great things now...you are a great man with alot of passion for the success of their community .
