All of it. I'll give you Spice 1 tho back in the 90s...Pac claims everywhere, so you don't get that one...:mjlol:
i just named some of the mainstream acts, there were hundreds of underground bay area and sacramento artists that had cult classic hits, but to each their own :manny:

No doubt. Tons I could rattle off that any hip hop fan would love. I put people on to good rap from all over the country. Some humans can rap really well. Most suck. Doesn’t matter if you’re on the west or the east or the south, etcetera.

besides oldschool NY shyt
Oakland and the bay have the best style and funk out of any rap shyt of all time easily

It's literally the perfect blend of

street shyt like NY
funky like (a little bit of Virginia, a little midwest, southern funk, cali funk...etc)
original like none other
dance music like (south, NY rhythms chopped more, midwest dance styles... obviously cali ones)
great technical rappers, great storytelling rappers, great ladies rappers, great street rappers etc

to me the bay has the best open air energy... when I listen to bay area music I dont feel like I'm listening to a person who is defined by what people want
I feel like I'm listening to someone who is open creatively and goes with whatever vibe they are feeling at the time. They easily have the biggest diversity in sound where
you never know exactly what you are gonna get each time you put a record on. It might be some ultra hyphy dance anthem... it might be some riding music or could be some ultra introspective smooth shyt

word to Richie Rich

Being from the DMV, I always sympathized with the Bay because like us, their whole music culture is an acquired taste and their culture in general has always been insular and localized like ours so much so to the point where nikkas wouldn’t know how deep our influences really are til someone from either region breaks it down for them

I fux with a lot new shyt from the Bay as well as some of the old school classics, whether they were hits or underground shyt. Hell, my Bay Area Hip Hop/Hyphy/R&B playlist is one of the biggest playlists I’ve made on my Apple account and the shyt keeps on growing lol :russ:

I ain’t feeling the 40 Watta slander in here either yadamean? :birdman:
