i thought it wasn't as simple as one asteriod eliminating all dinosaurs in one go but the asteriod altering the enrionment through causing dirt and other such things to fly into the sky therefore blocking the sun which leads to a lack of plant growth which eventually kills of the herbivore dinosaurs and so the carnivore ones have nothing to feed on etc.
