In what world is Stone Cold arguably the GOAT?:usure:

Dude was "Stunning" Steve Austin for the majority of his career.

He got hot in '97 & by '98 was too injured to ever be full time ever again.

He's one of the greatest promos of all-time, no doubt, but you can't be GOAT off of a few years.

Hogan, Flair, Harley Race, The Rock, and even Jericho have more of a case for GOAT than Austin.
Are you seriously trying to put Jericho & Race over Stone Cold just because they wrestled longer? In that case Cena is better than Rock:mjlol:. The WWF from 98-01 was competing with the NFL and that's in large part due to Stone Cold.

Yeah, I said what I wanted to say:stopitslime:

I just can't make sense of you saying "you can't be GOAT off a few years", then in the very next sentence suggest the Rock, who was around for even less time than Austin. Truth be told, both of their reigns on top were short like leprechauns, but they were so iconic and impactful, that as soon as one turned heel and the other became part time, not even fully gone yet, ratings and mainstream interest dropped and have been in a downward spiral ever since, to the point that whenever WWE gets desperate for ratings, they call up one of them to get a boost for a week. Now if that ain't GOAT shyt, I don't know what is.

It’s not necessarily how long you do something, but what you do during that period, and you can’t at all take away what Austin did for the most profitable and mainstream era in wrestling. Give me Austin and Rock over those other 4 any day. As much as a fan I am of Jericho, he’s last on that list you just named.

Austin was lightning in a bottle. 2 years as an in ring top guy

Dude, it wasn't just Stone Cold.

It was Shawn Michaels & DX, The Undertaker, Kane, Mick Foley, and a hell of a lot of guys. Hell, I'd argue "Mr. McMahon" was the biggest star of that era.

You've forgotten The Rock, who's a top 5 all-time level talent was the guy at the same time.

Austin couldn't even wrestle for most of that time period and was recouperating for months at a time.

It's really more like '96 - '99 as the guy in the ring.

He probably was that guy less than 2 years.

At least The Rock could keep coming back, even after his Hollywood shyt and wrestle here & there.

Austin was severely limited after Owen Hart broke his neck

And WCW had even higher numbers from '96-98 during the NWO's run.

Wrestling was just hot in the late '90s. :yeshrug:

It's not just that those guys wrestled longer, they were great longer.

Jericho was great in WCW, WWF/WWE, New Japan, and AEW

He's been all over the world and gotten over.

Harley Race was a fukking 8 time world champion when that meant something.

WCW had astronomical ratings in the late '90s too.

It wasn't like it was just WWF.

Steve Austin was great from like '96-'98 when Owen Hart broke his neck

The Rock was great from '97-2002 when he left to go acting and then kept coming back over the years to wrestle in huge matches against Hulk Hogan, John Cena, and even helped put Ronda Rousey over a few years ago.

The Rock was a great wrestler longer than Stone Cold Steve Austin & was/is more talented.

Are you old enough to remember Harley Race in the WWF in the 80s...because thats the only way i view him,he was a mediocre mid carder who over sold way too much...To me NWA in the 80s was the minor leagues so i paid it no attention, his run in WWF was forgettable...and he looked stupid with a crown on his head.

That's because of WWF propaganda.

NWA was definitely not the "minor leagues". in the '80s.

They just weren't the "entertainment" based sports-entertainment that Vince proports.

Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Magnum T.A., & Ricky Steamboat were definitely not "minor league"

Steamboat was in the WWF in the mid to late 80s.They were definitely the minor leagues in terms of TV numbers and money....

Steamboat was in JCP first he went to WWF afterwards

NWA/JCP/WCW was professional wrestling. They weren't the minor leagues, they just weren't the watered down corporate sports entertainment that WWF was.

Virtually everybody knew Flair, Rhodes, Race, Steamboat, Road Warriors, etc. . .were the best in the business.

It'd be like claiming that New Japan is "minor league" wrestling or something today because they're not as rich as WWE, but most people agree that guys like Okada are best in the biz.

I agree Steamboat and Road Warriors...Race,Rhodes and Flair to me in terms of just technical ability werent great to me...Harley Race wasnt good on the mic either :yeshrug:To me there wasnt anything appealing Rhodes or Race in the ring, they bored the shyt out of me...

Steamboat wasnt a mainsteam star til his WWF run....WWF in the mid 80s was runned by Hogan but wasnt watered down yet...

My first connection to it was WWF,i didnt know who NONE of those guys were til they came over,NWA and the smaller promotions wasnt on TV up here...Japan back in the day didnt exist to me...

I don’t even think it’s even possible to have a long title reign anymore and it be good. The problem is WWE just produces TOO much content and is overexposed. Back in the day they had long ass title reigns because they weren’t doing 7000 hours of tv a week on TV. People like to shyt on the hot potato-ing of the title in 99 but it didn’t feel like it back then. It was exciting (just listen to the pops when there was a title change). Every long title reign they’ve done in the modern era (post 90s) has been fukking awful, boring, and made me tune OUT. JBL, Cena, Triple H, Punk, Batista.

Not to mention the fact of having TWO fukking world titles which has always been stupid to me. History has shown me that in this era 8 months is like the max and that’s pushing it. I prefer a change every few months with the occasional surprise:yeshrug:.

That has more to do with terrible WWE booking than anything else.

They don't know how to get people over and keep them over.

Vince has essentially been useless since about 2001
