That's why I laugh when wrestlers brag about holding onto the title for so long, because no one remembers their long shytty reigns. Outside of HHH & Cena they knew when to take the belt off of someone so they wouldn't become stale.

I mean kayfabe wise is fukking obvious why any wrestler would brag about keep a title for a long time...

In real life, I honestly don't know who has bragged about long title runs outside of old timers. And those kinda have a point because back then keeping the belt meant you were worth a damn to your company/territory as you were drawing good money.

of the two, I definitely lean towards the first contributing more to devaluing the championship....between that, separate world titles for “brands”, and putting the strap on part timers...at least during hogan type reigns, title matches were guaranteed to headline ppvs...they book the “champ” like a mid carder half the time now
