Never said that

I'm saying that talent is not a guarantee of money. And Jays trail can't be followed to the same success he had.
Your op is implying this

This also smells like some kinda Drake defense thread with the whole "Please understand nobody else can get to his level in this climate" shyt you're saying.. If it is, I'm out...

Being from NY is a career death sentence and Jay-Z doesn’t know anything about business.

Negged :obama:
Jay ain't even Trump level rich and Trump has lost so much money. You guys act like he's Oprah, Vince McMahon, Ted Turner, Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Howard Hughes, Sam Walton, Mark Zukerberg or something.

He'll never be fortune 500.

Tidal will never be on the level of Spotify.

Roc Nation has like one really successful act in like 10 years.

Rocafella failed miserably when it was under his full control.

Also Cory Gunz, Stro, A boogie, young ma, lil ma, Papoose, Troy Ave, Tru Life, Mickey Factz, Joel Ortiz, Jae Millz, Max B, Fred the Godson, Dessigner, Bobby Smhurdah, Uncle M, Saigon etc have proven that in this decade no matter how big a hit they have they will never be able to have success like Future, Meek, Drake, Kendrick, Cole, Sean, Em, Kanye, or even Migos or XXXtentacion let alone have a Jay like run

I’m saying for a guy from Marcy Projects, he’s done extremely well for himself.

Quote me when you bring an NBA team to Brooklyn, though :obama:

You really think donald trumps rich tho :mjlol:

This is for everyone that thinks Jay is better than Nas, or Rakim or G rap because he has more money than them.

Nobody is going to come into hip hop with the leverage to negotiate and demand things the way Jay does now. It's pretty much guaranteed that no other artist will get to run def jam again. And if they did that company is worthless today in comparison to what it was when Jay was there.

Nobody is going to have a run as long as Jay to make things work in the same way.

Artists have to take 360 deals and give up publishing to have a remote chance of making it to a position to be successful enough to demand more.

I guess Jay made that happen all on his own with his 1/10th of a percent ownership in the team.

Holler at me when they get a ring. Funny how Jay was dikkriding LeBron more than he supported anyone on that team he had a small fraction of a percent in.

If the argument is about anything other than the music then it's trash if we're measuring an artist's greatness.. Different artists have different goals and some are willing to compromise the artistry more for a buck.

With that said I prefer Hov over all of them I think musically.. Nas I'm not sure about but I'd lean towards Jay..

Jay is a guy who couldn't get signed that had 2 partners to help him start a label. Good look finding a Dame and Bigges today. Jay also came in at a time where tv, radio, and magazines mattered. The machine has completely transformed and being from New York is a death sentence to your career now.

Stopped reading....:snooze:

Name one NY artist this decade with a 5 year run where they managed to keep the same momentum and popularity

I'll wait

Your switching the context and intent of your statement...:comeon:

Just because an artist hails from NY doesn't mean it's the end of their career and heads automatically aren't checkin for em.

Your reaching....:duck:

Is that what kept you from going to work? :gucci:

Trying to discredit another nikkas wallet with your broke ass. smh.

And the main reason, "he got help". Like rich people do shyt on their own, these trolls are making the spot worse by the thread. If Bill Gates wasn't a computer geek, he wouldn't be a billionaire. No shyt sherlock, it just happens that he was. I can give you an "if" for anyone to discredit them.

Where are NY's Migos at? Who is their Future? Who's their Kendrick or Sean?

New York artists haven't had a fair shot since the G unit era.
Why is A-Boogie, A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, Don Q, Dave East, 6ix9ine, A$AP Ferg, Fabolous, etc. all successful. Why NY always got hits on the Billboards?
