There were two movies that sparked the concept for the smooth criminal video first was some black and white noir movie and the other was Bandwagon starring Fred Astaire

Used to get up mad early as a kid on Saturdays, make a bowl of cereal, and watch this with tape on my fingers and my dads fedora...was scared of the claymation and the Mike running in the movie set...


Joe Pesci killed his role and Mike was a beast too...then when the movie was done, it was cartoons and Nickleodeon

Bro I was scared when Mj turned into Optimus Prime when he was fighting all those gnome solidiers. nikka sounded demonic as hell when he sai LEAVE HER ALONE!!! When joe pesci was slapping up Annie. Lol that shyt was wild come to think of it
But I wore the fukk outta of that VHS tape though. I would watch that shyt religiously as a little Kid and try and mimick all his dance moves and shyt throughout the video. Then the nikka had Ladysmith Black Mambazo at the credits them nikkaz didn't need no beat just "Come and see the moon dancing" that shyt had me lit. The jackson family should of had them perform that at his funeral but that would of been too much.
That tape was a good part of my childhood and man god I miss the goat

I watched this a couple of weeks ago. Pesci killed his role. He was excellent. Mike's mind was something else. Dude was a genius. The mecha part used to scare the hell out of me, but as I got older I thought it was cool as fukk to see. I even tried to track down the Dancing Machine snippet from this movie on YouTube since I think it's his best robot performance. I used to wear penny loafers all the time. lol I love Mike he was the entertainer all the way.
