The United States has been meddling in foreign elections for a CENTURY and Hillary Clinton has been doing it herself:
Lakewood, Colorado, delegate Kim Netherton said it’s beside the point whether agents of Russian President Vladimir Putin hacked the Democratic National Committee’s emails, as reported this month. And it may come with a little poetic justice for Hillary Clinton, according to Netherton.

Isn’t it interesting that her campaign is now experiencing the same thing that she perpetrated on other countries, Netherton told The Huffington Post, as she awaited Sanders’ speech Monday night.

She did this in Haiti, she did this in Honduras, and now it’s coming back on her and she’s all verklempt about it,” Netherton added. “It’s a little bit of her own medicine, but unfortunately I don’t think she’s open minded enough to see that for what it is.

You should probably read that Time Magazine article and compare it to what the CIA thinks Russia did here.

Not the same.

*makes another statement about people not knowing how to think critically anymore.*

I know what the Time article talks about

At the same time it's interesting to see the two contrasts

Yeltsin became a friend of Clinton, sold out Russia to all the investors and neoliberal institutions, Russia got a huge oligarch class

Now, Putin assumes the role of nationalist aiming to free Russia of most of the western rules put upon it in the 1990s and look inward for its development and looking East. A new nationalist rise has occurred which is also happening in Europe.

And in the US, a character like Trump rises out of that failure of the neoliberal order even though he's profited of it

This example aside, haven't we taken very direct action into other countries' elections several times?

Of course, this isn't the only example, but does anyone remember when we actually played a huge part in the overthrow and death of a democratically elected Socialist in Chile and subsequently installed a ruthless dictator named Alfred Pinochet who murdered thousands of "dissidents"?

Yeah, me neither.

I agree that the USA has interfered in a lot of foreign elections. Often with disasterous results.

I disagree with the dumbasses here who are acting like it somehow makes Russia interfering in our elections a good thing, or that it's a GOOD thing that we have a president who Russia likes more than the majority of Americans do.

It's like selling state secrets. Do we have spies overseas trying to steal state secrets? Or course. Does that mean that I'm going to side with people selling our technology and intelligence to the Russians?

Of course. Not denying that.

I'd rather see those incidents mentioned than a misleading tweet and image. That's where critical thinking comes into play. US gov has done many undemocraic things around the world, cite those. Not misleading shyt. I can almost imagine the source of that image came from some white nationalist that's pro trump.
