Woke up approx at the hour mark. Looked and saw nothing but horseshyt. Fell asleep again.

I came in here to say Godzilla 2014 but I see @MartyMcFly mentioned it already. Those motherfukkers had me thinking it was this dramatic film where Bryan Cranston has to help stop this rampaging force in Godzilla. They bait and switched me something crazy with that one

I can’t name any exactly off the top right now, but most event movies where the world is gonna end (2012, Day after Tomorrow, Geostorm or whatever) always look epic as fukk in the trailers but end up being mostly garbage or underwhelming.

Someone already posted it but the Suicide Squad comic con trailer is up there for greatest trailers of all time and the movie was light af, I still need to hear David Ayer's side of this story..

Prometheus had an all-time great trailer but I still fukk with that movie heavy

2014 Godzilla had a trailer making it look like a classic among classics, instead it was completely mishandled gutter trash.

It’s just like the first season of the show. So it is an updated version. First season of Miami vice is a gritty cop show with Miami gloss

It had the same tone as the pilot/first season, but the story was convoluted as fukk. If Mann had just done an updated version of 2 part pilot shyt would have been dope af. That would have gave Crockett and Tubbs ample time to shine, provided motivations for their characters, and have a much better, more fleshed out story. The movie ended up being way more style than substance. And while Mann is a gourmet chef when it comes to cooking up style, that shyt ended up being a beautiful buffet of empty calories.

I agree. This is the period where he fell in love with form and technique over character. Public enemies is the best example of this and another where the trailer promises a movie I never saw
