The album was a heat rock that changed rap music forever! His death, the album, Tyson, movies, being the hottest rapper out at the time at that very moment….. The impact changed the way we look at rapper AD! It was almost like his spirit was rapping to us after death, crazy work in 96! The I ain’t mad at cha video fukked me completely up, rapping from heaven after death seeing that as a pre teen was too much for my brain at the time 😂 we didn’t want to believe he was dead!

this was the first rap album I ever heard.

the cassette I had was warped so it was a little sped up...on top of that, my speakers muted the background adlibs and instruments that were panned..

when I got the cd and played it on a nice stereo, my mind was blown

i loved that album from the first listen and i hadnt even heard it how it was supposed to be heard

this joint also had me hating Jayz, Biggie, Mob Deep, Nas..... and I had no idea who any of them were

took me awhile to get off that bullshyt too.

Hold Ya Head is a masterpiece. My favorite Pac song.. Ive always felt like MJ would've been fire on the hook.

Its perfect as is but if it had the OG Lets Be Friendz, Toss It Up and Thugz Cry :ohlawd:

The World, but from BK
Looking back almost 30 years later I have to :pachaha: at the theories we were all wrapped up in at the time:

- He faked his death to get off deathrow.
- Him mentioning Suge shot him as the first sound on the album.
- Eventhough he faked his death or survived the murder attempt from Suge, he was still able to release an album on Suge's label and slip in that Suge had him shot.
- He went to Cuba live with his aunt and was gonna return back to civilization in 7 years.
- He had to be alive because of all his unreleased songs.

He recorded that shyt in 3 days. It's not an album where he conceptualized spirituality. It was just organically spiritual.Naturally.Like a web out of a spider.Just hashing it out from the gut. Most artist have to lean on the power of religion to move you like that.Pac just did it existentially.
