As far as nicki,wayne said out his on mouth he just signed a chic named nicki minaj and this was 07' on her mixtape,but the song could be even older than that from his mixtapes. You cant argue that,this is him on wax saying it. You think he said it to sound cool,why would he say it for any other reason besides that being the case.Keep trying to tell you dudes YM didn't even exist as a proper company till late '08/top '09...Nicki and Tyga were both down with YM the crew back in like '07, but paperwork wasn't signed till years later...it's the reason why Tyga's first album came out on another label entirely (Decaydance) despite the fact that he was already repping YM...this idea that they were "secretly signed and didn't want anybody to know as some sort of secret plot to fool the masses" is silly...how are they trying to hide anything or dupe anybody with Wayne right there on the cover of her first mixtape standing right next to her with the words "Young Money Presents" written in big bold letters on the front? And putting her on his mixtape and making it obvious to the world he's behind and cosigning her...and taking her on tour with him...same thing with Drake, Jas Prince's lawsuit gives the exact date he actually signed the contract in '09, despite the fact he was repping YM since like late summer '08

Basically yeah...that was him announcing she was apart of the camp, likely a mutual agreement to link up and do business, building and hyping up the brand before the actual black and white business framework was in place...but as an actual functioning label, there was nothing for her to sign to at that point....she didn't get an advance, have a budget opened up, etc. (aka all the trappings that come along with signing a proper record deal) until she signed in '09 after Young Money was made a true functional imprint of Cash Money with distribution through Universal...which was a formality because it was made abundantly clear she was "Young Money" far as crew and branding and all that for years by that point...there was no secret who she was down with and cosigned by

I don't think Drake was signed before 2009, he started fukking with Weezy around mid 2008 that's when he first met him. And right there he might've signed with the YM but didn't sign with Cash Money/universal until 2009 which is the official date. People forget that he's managed by powerful dukes, they know what the fukk they were doing.

I dont think they were trying to conceal affiliation. My point is she had a deal PERIOD. She wasnt an unsigned artist with wayne on her tape and she wasnt unsigned when she was at the BET awards dancing on stage alongside hurricane chris at the pre-show before she was said to be signed.
