I can why someone would think he fell off before then, or if they never liked him. But he dropped dud after dud after Longest Yard. Nothing good in between.

Funny People and maybe Grown Ups 1 are exceptions.

This. Adam Sandler has always made trash, it's just that most people didn't realize it until they got older. It's not that he fell off as much as it is people grew up and realized his schtick wasn't funny. There's really no difference between his early movies and what he's doing now.
