--More and more people are playing games on PC. Please tell us the value of home consoles.

"I think that many mobile games have ads, and PCs are difficult to set up. With PS, you can play the content you purchased as soon as you turn it on. The products are clearly displayed in the stores where you buy software, so it's an intuitive experience."

"We are trying to increase the overall game market by expanding content to PCs. There is no doubt that home consoles will be the core of our business, but by offering titles for devices other than home consoles, we will reach a wider range of customers."

I think we will still eventually see day 1 on PC but only for certain titles. It's inevitable that you can't avoid PC impact on gaming.

No matter how much PC people want it to be, it simply will never be on par with consoles. You can’t compete against something that’s built specifically for a task vs something that can do that task but isn’t dedicated to it.

Optimization will always put consoles ahead. Add on top of that, the average person isn’t about to go through the shyt you have to for PC gaming sometimes.

Sony need to be careful. Outside a few titles, PC sales of Sony games have been lacklustre.
Sony isn't using Denuvo DRM, their games are heavily pirated. Once they start using Denuvo, like Capcom does, their sales will double or more on PC. I hate that shyt but Denuvo is basically uncrackable.

So there's a plethora of people out there with $2,000 + PCs. Good to know.
What the hell you talking about? Those people who have high powered pcs are like 10 percent of the gaming pc population. Take a look at Steam surveys.

Not true. PC made Helldivers a success majority of the sells were Pc and Spider-Man sold great.

What is it with these suits being decades behind ? PCs haven't been hard for the casual consumer to set up since like 2005. And has this guy never heard of the Steam store? Or online Gamepass?

Makes Jim Ryan seem like an astrophysicist.

Consoles are trying to delay the inevitable. Microsoft is about to be out the paint and eventually time will come for Sony/Nintendo. Cell phones and computer gaming is the move :ehh:

This isn’t as true as it was years ago when you had the ps3. Consoles are basically pc hardware in it as opposed to it being custom hardware that was made and built for a console like for the PS3 and PS2. If the game runs shytty these days on PC a lot of time is because it’s a shytty port and not because of optimizations on console. PC has a lot of optimizations in terms of a plethora of detailed settings these days to give you an on par console experience with decent hardware.

You can tweak all the settings you want. It will never compare to a game being literally made around a specific set of hardware that’s all the same for each console.

And “detailed settings” isn’t optimization. Optimization is optimization.

Final Fantasy 16 says otherwise. The game runs like trash on PS5 and there’s no optimization to run that game at a stable 60 fps in performance mode. My gaming laptop ran the demo at 60 - 70 fps at some setting between high and medium. The game was first released on PS5 so the game was centered around PS5 hardware. Even Horizon Forbidden West runs better on PC and it was a PS5 game.

Looked online and this final fantasy shyt you’re talking about only affected some people. This isn’t a universal thing lmao.
