Do you tell this stuff to whites who constantly admire Greece and Rome eventhough their ancestors lived 1,500 miles away?

Also keep in mind, Ancient Egypt was invaded and the native blacks were ran off to other areas of Africa by the Arabs. This is why Central, East, West and Southern Africans share genetic markers and cluster most heavily with the royal Egyptian families. So they are still our ancestors. Our more recent ancestors are just from West / Central Africa of course.

All I'm saying is it's nice to cherry pic the best assets of African societies. Whites do it too.

However most Africans aren't claiming anything besides where they came from. AA pick and choose the best qualities of African society to claim. Not saying it's wrong but it's definitely not right.

If u wanna go into history we can all claim each other's accomplishments bc we have more alike than different.

I guess u can keep claiming history until it suits u.

I claim west African history and that's it.

Now, Im not one to knock someone who has a healthy interest in a culture outside of their own, however I have to admit I do :mjpls:whenever I see some black people here in America who try to lay claim or talk about "getting back to our roots" in regards to Egypt when we are ethically and genetically West African, which has nothing to do with the Egyptian region whatsoever.

Its slightly concerning that so many people are so gung ho about Egypt (a country thats in a way been "validated" by whites as a great civilization) but I don't see that same type of fervor towards (the just as incredible) west/central African cultures/empires/civilizations that we actually have a connection to. Why is that?

thoughts?
The bolded in red is a misunderstanding. West Africans ARE kemetians/ancient egyptians. As organisms we had to move around/migrate for centuries because of the aryan invasian into our cultures. You're right though, alot of pro blacks skip over west african history just to go right over to egypt...

Oh boy. Guess this is the part where you tell me the original Europeans were black?

Some of the things you guys say here is just plain ridiculous. I'm now convinced that many of the "pro black activists" on this site are actually white people just trolling.

nikka look at yo avi. You watch cartoons, you the whiteboy

The climb
Of course im black. Check the username.:obama:

I don't like entertaining this debate. There are great civilizations in and around the area (benin, mali, asante, kingdom of the congo...forgot the proper name)

The question typically comes from NRx groups and the like who seek to discredit the black race based on relative civilization in a single paticular area. Usually due to the ignorance of African social structures, and infastructure, most of which is due to a lack of archeology in the area.

The goal posts always move, the logic is always shaky, the characters are questionable.

mansa musa:coffee:

Here’s the full list of the ‘26 richest people of all time’:

1. Mansa Musa I, (Ruler of Malian Empire, 1280-1331) $400 billion

2. Rothschild Family (banking dynasty, 1740- ) $350 billion

3. John D Rockefeller (industrialist, 1839-1937) $340 billion

4. Andrew Carnegie (industrialist, 1835-1919) $310 billion

5. Tsar Nicholas II of Russia (last Emperor of Russia, 1868-1918) $300 billion

Meet Mansa Musa I of Mali – the richest human being in all history

The above article is probably wrong about the Rothschild family net worth. No one really knows their true worth but it has been recently estimated to be worth over 400 billion.

I can't wait until I get my African Ancestry genetic test done so I can know which regions my ancestors hailed from. I want to know the REAL history of who I am. About the cultures, art and civilizations my ancestors were apart of not this romanticized, "they were Kings and Queens of Ancient Egypt" narrative that people keep pushing. Nothing wrong with showing pride in another black civilization (especially since people insist that we've never had one) but it is suspect that so many people downplay, ignore, or just flat out deny our west african origins in order to uplift another :sas2:

Blacks need focus on the here and now. I see way too many "hotep" Blacks romanticizing history instead of focusing on true nation building in the here and now. They are tragically disillusioned.

"An awareness of our past is essential to the establishment of our personality and our identity as Africans" Halie Selassie

"History is the landmark by which we are directed into the true course of life" Marcus Garvey

"A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin, and culture is like a tree without roots" Marcus Gravey

"Our history is vital to us. You have to know where you came/come from in order to get a better understanding of where you're headed. When you come from greatness, you aspire to be even greater"

Think about African spirituality and how much is predicated on the knowledge of the past and communicating with the ancestors.

Think about how our practices of customs, traditions, and history was beaten out of us during slavery. Why are we the only people who are told to forget about the past?
