Thanks, never caught the similarity. If they are dissing X, has more to do with the beat. I mention in every thread about diss records that Def Jam artists are notorious for subs at label mates.The label rides the hot artist and tries to cash in as much as possible, other acts are put on the back burner.


If this was when EPMD was still on Def Jam, they probably had a release date for an album scheduled around the time Its Dark and Hell is Hot came out.

The reason I said that record vs the headbanger... Headbanger was sort

Upon a little research it not sure if it's headbanger/ride or die...
Out of business LP dropped 7/20/99 with an original date of feb 99..
Ride or Die Vol 1 dropped april 99. ..

its possible they added the song later but dont know

If they released the diss verse while they were on Def Jam, then X's rapid rise and the company devoting all of their resources to promote his albums factored into them saying that..... was my point.
