That's on them. You have to take control of your education just like you have to take control of your career. You have to be your own biggest advocate.I believe college gives certain people a false sense of security, and probably does more harm than good. You can get through those college courses with average intelligence, but when these mediocre students get out in the job market they can't thrive.

Well part of it is because guidance counselors are terrible. That and schools are not transparent. I feel for them.Everyone should be held accountable for their actions, but a lot of these kids are suffering major set backs because they are not realistic. College is not for everybody, but a lot of people are going that route because they see it as easy way out.
All the high school drop outs are in TLR![]()

I don't feel for them. I find a lot of those guys after graduation work retail or in the service industry @ jobs that require only a high school diploma AND years of work experience.
For instance, at Marshall's a college graduate could be hired as a store lead, but someone who worked at Marshall's for 3 or 4 years can get the same position. I feel those are the people who says school was a waste of time. They really thought they was going to get a vice president position when they graduated.
i wish people would stop using anecdotes and fictional scenarios
You are pretty out touch, so its comedy you question my account.
oh ok, thats what i thought, thanks for the anecdotes and fiction
We are not even talking about the same thing. You are taking about "preparation."
I'm talking about dead end jobs. Dead end jobs at retail or customer service for college graduates is a reality. I've met enough of them to know.
Oh so you're saying college doesn't prepare people for retail jobs, I see
