Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
The Smackdown Six era was the best in ring product the E has ever had
Yep thats the journey im on right now. So much piff. No Mercy tag title tournament final bewteen Benoit/Angle and Rey/GOATdge was ridiculous. P sure Dave gave that match of the year.

late 96-late 97. Hart Foundation Era, basically.

Best mix of edginess with wrestling/storytelling quality. No over the top Russo fukkery yet.

97 Austin >>>> 98 Anti Vince Austin, and I love 98 Austin.

Early DX with HBK >>>> HHH, XPac, NAO

and I think this era ages much, much better than some of the later attitude era stuff. A lot of that is cringy in retrospect.

1997 up until Montreal. It wasn't really the attitude era but you had hints of it. 21 years later I still don't understand how Raw didn't get any ratings victories over Nitro.
Nobody wanted to watch Bret, Shawn, or Taker as the main guys while the nwo and Sting were going strong. Very simple.

I love the vibe of early '01 before the Austin heel turn and Rock departure. GOAT combination of sports entertainment and in-ring quality, and everybody was at their peaks :wow:

And then of course, '97 from February on. There was this chaos and work/shoot vibe that's never been matched.

Can you imagine being a teenage semi-smark when shyt like this went down?! :damn:

I was breh, and there’s a reason why these clips are the only ones that survived from that era

Yes, you get a DX, McMahon or Austin segment, but the rest of the night was Savio Vega vs Dlo Brown and Dr Death vs some jobber renamed Mike Stratinski

1992 when Jake Roberts ruled the world as heel. Slapping Elizabeth..having Macho Man bitten with that Cobra and Vince McMahon marking out so hard he could barely get his words out right.

Same year the Dangerous Alliance was whooping ass left and right..Rude was so fukking great as the leader. I'll never forget the Steamboat concrete beatdown...lol@when Sting finally got his hands on Rude at the end of it..grabbed his hair hard:laugh:

When Macho Man dropped that Timers bell on Steamboat's throat before WM 3..basically how I first got into pro wrestling as a child. Wonderful heel shyt.

Of course Summer 96...when Hall and Nash invaded WCW..everyone was so nuts..everyone really thought it was WWF vs WCW...genius booking. Hall was on fire during this time. The segments..the way he talked...he was unstoppable...coming off that hot Razor Ramon run. Second WCW PPV we ever ordered..Bash at the Beach 96..we had to know who the 3rd man was. Wonderful wrestling angle. Excellent money promo from Hogan despite the new world organization botch.

1999...when the Rock tried to kill Mankind at Rumble 99..Cole sounded like he popped a blood vessel at the end. The Rock trying to kill Austin at the bridge before Backlash 99...just pure comedy. "The Rock smells trash". Genius.
at the time wrestling was still real to me...that shyt legit gave me nightmares as a kid!!

Superstars had some crazy shyt..the Berzerker trying to murder the Undertaker with the sword..lol. or when Bart took that spur and cut off all the skin from Beefcake's head...which led to Warrior replacing him vs Honkey Tonk Man at SummerSlam and he won the IC belt.
