Im not just talking general eras like “attitude era” but if you notice, early 99 is a completely different vibe than mid 99 and so on. I have two.

I’m gonna say early to spring 2002 when Hogan was rocking voodoo child, big evil undertaker, baby face HHH. The hype for that years royal rumble and Wrestlemania were real.

Also mid-late 99 before Austin got injured. You had baby face Vince, prime Rock, prime Austin, crowds were on fire, HHH elevating, etc.

Honorable mentions go to early 2000 and summer 98

I'll say I used to love fall/winter WWE.

Summer Slam used to be about guys getting 'made' and then he'd begin his move up the card in the fall / winter.

As for a specific year 1998. The Rock and Triple H getting 'made' at Summer Slam.

Followed by a heel turn and a first World championship at Survivor Series.

This was fresh off the previous year's very controversial Survivor Series.

Fall/Winter wrestling used to be great. They weren't scared of MNF or any of that shyt.

The Rock went from HHH at Summer Slam to Mankind at Survivor Series through the Rumble to Austin at Mania.

:wow:

This business used to be for the fans too, at one time, long ago.

:mjcry:

TNT & Turner Family
mid-late 80s WWF before the insanely cartoonish gimmicks.

roster was nothing but heavyweights and all around badass dudes. match quality overall didn’t have the same variety it does today but the storytelling was for the most part top notch.

but like most ppl I think it’s because that’s when I was the biggest mark.

WWF 1992 from the Royal Rumble through Summerslam -- stacked ass roster, still in the Golden Era, and my introduction into wrestling

WWF 1996 HBK era -- I think the New Generation era gets a bad rap. Most people who talk shyt about the NGE are youngins who weren't even around back then. As a kid, the New Generation Era was so fun. My friends and I were always wrestling, pretending to be Bret and Shawn. In hindsight, it saddens me to know that my childhood hero, HBK, is a complete a$$hole. However, his 1996 reign was memorable for me as a kid, especially since they built up to his title win so well. He was chasing that title for a while, and the slow burn paid off for me.

WCW Summer 1996 -- Obviously, Hogan's turn at Bash at the Beach is the greatest turn of all-time. However, the build-up to that match was equally legendary. Hall and Nash's invasion, combined with how well the commentators put them over, was mind-blowing back then. Also, the rest of the Bash at the Beach '96 PPV is fire, too.

WWF 1997 -- Bret Hart's heel work was amazing. From the double-turn with Austin, to the Canada gimmick, to the Montreal business with Michaels, Bret was god status that year. I never though I would hate Bret Hart as a kid, but all those aforementioned things made me HATE him at the time.

WWF late-'98/early '99 -- Rock & Mankind battling over the title, and all the fukkery that ensued.

TNA 2007 -- Brought me back to wrestling, after a few years of not watching anything... Joe, Styles, Ron Killings, Angle, Christian Cage, and so many more people were killing it back then. I was so glad to have good wrestling to watch again.

Energy of summer 98 in WWF was :banderas:

Every Raw was must watch TV. Austin was getting mega pops every week....everything just caught fire from King of the Ring to Summerslam. I knew WCW wasn't catching up after that.

I love early 2000 WWF....you had this influx of new talent...Jericho, Angle, the Radicalz, Tazz, who could all go in the ring, then suddenly the quality of matches got way better, and every PPV was fire. HHH really came into his own as a heel during that Foley feud, the tag division became lit for the fire time in years.

1992 when Jake Roberts ruled the world as heel. Slapping Elizabeth..having Macho Man bitten with that Cobra and Vince McMahon marking out so hard he could barely get his words out right.

Same year the Dangerous Alliance was whooping ass left and right..Rude was so fukking great as the leader. I'll never forget the Steamboat concrete beatdown...lol@when Sting finally got his hands on Rude at the end of it..grabbed his hair hard:laugh:

When Macho Man dropped that Timers bell on Steamboat's throat before WM 3..basically how I first got into pro wrestling as a child. Wonderful heel shyt.

Of course Summer 96...when Hall and Nash invaded WCW..everyone was so nuts..everyone really thought it was WWF vs WCW...genius booking. Hall was on fire during this time. The segments..the way he talked...he was unstoppable...coming off that hot Razor Ramon run. Second WCW PPV we ever ordered..Bash at the Beach 96..we had to know who the 3rd man was. Wonderful wrestling angle. Excellent money promo from Hogan despite the new world organization botch.

1999...when the Rock tried to kill Mankind at Rumble 99..Cole sounded like he popped a blood vessel at the end. The Rock trying to kill Austin at the bridge before Backlash 99...just pure comedy. "The Rock smells trash". Genius.
