I'd say for sure, but it's money/relationships as well. It's basically how a lot of the high end moves rather than leave things to pure grind/luck.

A lot of cats who are in the music industry for example are there because somebody is their uncle and on that "check out my niece/nephew they sing/make beats".

Definitely. Chance for instance tried to maintain that knowing the Obamas meant nothing for him but who believes that not me.

Yup. Saweetie being related to Zaytoven and Gabrielle Union, Future being related to Rico Wade, Jazze Pha having parents who worked with Michael Jackson, Ty Dolla $ign's dad being in Lakeside, etc. So many more.

Getting that foot in the door is probably the most difficult part, so whoever has that has an enormous advantage. Especially nowadays where people actually want somebody's child to be a star like their parents. Blue Ivy right now is a big example of that. Back in the day people weren't cheering for somebody's famous kids the same way.

One thing you can say about Aftermath/Dre is Snoop made a name for himself around the area, yeah he was connected to Warren G and shyt but they were out there grinding. Em was out there on his own grinding. 50 was grinding in the underground for years. Those stories resonate with me more than these plants.

My only problem is that she’s not good at her shtick. Funny Marco outclassed her on her own shyt, and even then Zach Galifianakis and countless others have done this better than them both.
This plus hip hop/black entertainment culture's tendency to run shyt into the ground and this dry humor rapper interviews shyt is already getting tired
