caught the first ep of that new netflix show "love" and its the same ol' adult comedy shtick that's been played out in indie movies the last 10-15 years. one trend i'm noticing about these new shows is the lead male is always some weak effeminate fakkit that's dominated by the lead female. this new show "love" similar to that aziz ansari show and a bunch of others in that way.

what's up with that? why has it become a trend to have these weak ass dudes as leads?

I know you being facetious but tin foil aside O.P. has a point. Most male lead on sitcoms and comedies are dominated by the women in these shows :patrice:
women are a huge market audience demographic now, even more-so then ever before, especially in regards to netflix. I don't see how it's surprising to see more dominant and expressive female personalities in shows.

Im not surprise that there are more expressive female personalities, what I am surprise at is the disparity in comparison to the shear amount if beta male leads in sitcoms, than again I'm not sure if men are the target audiences of these sitcom

that doesn't explain why the male leads have to be effeminate betas. are having both strong male & female characters in the same show mutually exclusive or something? not to mention i'm sure most women would prefer a strong male over some weak fukkboy. so i'm not sure who exactly this appeals to

they don't have to be. they were written that way. a sizeable portion of our population are nerdy dorky skinny palefaced cacs, me being one of them.

:heh: what do you mean? almost all comedies have damn near always been like that.

As long as the lead is in a family or the show focuses on a couple:

Guy is either a bumbling idiot with a good job or an angry idiot with a bad job,

wife is super sexy, down to earth, ultra smart super woman who is the voice of reason in the house and makes everything work behind the scenes.
