it's not new tho breh... for the last 8-10 years, college kids have been using it to cram extra hours into the day.

ritalin turns normal people into zombies, but adderall will turn you in a meth like junkie.

from this article:

Giants running back Andre Brown was using Adderall with a prescription but without advance approval from the league. *He tested positive, he appealed, and his suspension was lifted. *Ditto for Texans punter Brett Hartmann, whose four-game suspension was cut to three — and who now has approval to take Adderall.

and then from Adderall's Wikipedia page:

The New York Giants running back Andre Brown (American football) faced a four-game suspension for violating NFL's performance-enhancing substance ban. Brown said: “It was something that I've been on since I've been in the league, which was Adderall. I just forgot to fill out some paperwork and that was it.” [50] Brown eventually won an appeal, and had his suspension lifted.[51]

Seems like you can take it if you have a prescription, a valid reason to take it, and correctly notify the league, so I don't know it's still not clear if you can or can't take it in the NFL.

I think you can if you follow the right steps the league has in place. But like the article says:

"But since the league says nothing publicly about the reason for a suspension imposed under the NFL policy regarding anabolic steroids and related substances, the player who is suspended can say whatever he wants — and the league never will correct the record."

I think that's what's going on today..also I forgot to add this was written in July, and there has been what 6-7 cases of Adderall suspensions since this has been written. I think players just found a PR loop hole

keep in mind, the league doesn't announce which PED the player tested positive for... so it could easily be the player's agent just saying "oh, it was just Adderall" as a cop out

smh at the thought of Laron Landry getting suspended for PEDs and trying to claim that Adderall shyt

These guys are likely getting busted for doing more then Adderall. The league and Team(500,000$ fine) cannot comment on it. Only the player(Agent). So it is in the players interest to say they where using Adderall, then say they where getting there Lance Armstrong on.

And I am sure the league prefers it that way..

These nikkas did go to school breh, it's that you're seeing the people who were in school when it's use became really rampant, getting busted for it.

this generation was the first to really start taking shyt like ritalin, adderall and being diagnosed with ADHD.

it's not like you're seeing cats in the league for 10 years getting busted for it.

People are out here abusing shyt like Adderall and Ritalin just to focus more and play harder... than wonder why folks leave the league and end up with tons of health and medical conditions afterward.

The body ain't meant to be on that level of physical activity combined with that increased rate of blood pressure/heart rate for THAT long. Once you pop Adderall, you can't just turn that shyt off. You hyped up for however long it lasts.

If players want to do it... hey. But too many people are using substances just to perform better and sacrificing their health regularly for it. It ain't that serious.
