I don't know what was wrong with Ja's debut, dope beats, Irv exec produced it, grimy songs, 'Holla Holla' was the most commercial on on there....Anyway, lol at 'Harlem World: The Movement' being the first example listed in the thread, that's always my go to answer, not that I hated it so much back then....Those So So Def, bouncy, hollow ass beats were the norm back then, and I was a pretty devout Mase fan, so I liked it...but I know it was an awful album, as I listened to it a few years ago...I'd say I bought a lot of trash albums back then, far more then i do now....besides word of mouth, which wasn't much in middle school, and The Source, no one fukking knew what an album would sound like, not like today when everything from the producers to the song concept is known before the albums even finished, it was a different time. You would just hit the store, and see an an album and cop it, and deal with it later, if you got a garbage album, thats what happened....

It wasn't just a terrible album, it was sad and confusing. I was expecting Canibus to kill himself anytime at that point.

Yeah Baby! has one great Pun tune.

"earth to Pun...come in Pun....YOU BETTER WATCH THOSE!!!!!"

that cheesy guitar speaks to me on a primal, so bad it's good ala Journey level.
