I see a lot of viral plague scenarios but I think it will be more geologic. After all geologic based extinctions are documented. My prediction is an earthquake triggers massive amounts of methane hydrate to be released in the atmosphere, or a super volcano going off and resulting in a nuclear winter scenario. Again these two scenarios are speculated to be the cause of the LARGEST extinction ever, the Permian Triassic extinction
