I understand it from that perspective. Well medical marijuana, although seen as recreational for most might be a medical need, the alcohol that doing too much but I think people can suffer from withdrawals from that as well, the cigarettes is just over kill. I'm okay with medical need. My tax money goes to a bunch of shyt I dont agree with ALL THE TIME. I could stomach it for this more than I can for paying to get a racist cops ass out of trouble.
There's homeless people I don't give money to because I see them with a bottle of alcohol or cigarettes. I really really don't like drugs. That shyt ravaged my neighborhood and a lot of family members so if I think someone is going to use my money on drugs or alcohol I won't give it to them....doesn't matter who it is.

I say feed the homeless and house them but I don't want anybody getting high or drunk off my dime.

Seattle its like that. Dopefiends are nothing more than a footnote. Nobody gives a fukk in these cities...its really soulless

Old post, but Seattle's problem seems different. Somehow in the 90s it became the hip place for young people no prospects and runaway to migrate to.

SF should take all the bums and move them to Alcatraz. They’ve made the city disgusting. I have fam in the bay so I visit yearly. You could literally see the decline happening year after year.

The city has handed out either booze, tobacco or medical cannabis to 43 homeless people with addictions to deter them from leaving the hotels and potentially spreading coronavirus, Jenna Lane, a spokeswoman for the city’s Department of Health told the San Francisco Chronicle.

I'm okay with this. What do you think about it?

In general, when I give money to someone that’s homeless I don’t care what they use it for. If they want a fix so be it. But the government shouldn’t be enabling and encouraging it. That’s twisted. SF went way overboard catering to junkies and it’s turned a once beautiful city into a piss, shyt, and needle filled city. City officials supporting this shyt is a slap in the face to anyone that actually cares about where they live.
