"777-9311" is the second track and lead single from The Time's second album, What Time Is It?.[1] Recorded for the album at Prince's home studio in May–June 1982, the song was produced, arranged, composed and performed by Prince with Morris Day later adding his lead vocals.
Prince did produce and write for "The Time" he did under the psuedonym "Jamie Starr". That production is all Prince, "Cool, Get it up, 777-9311 ect... is Price aka Jamie Starr.

Prince and the Artist he put on i.e. wrote for that were lesser known, and he did a lot for those lesser known in the 80's after Purple Rain and before Sign 0' the Times.
