Quoted for emphasis.I'll say one thing for sure, and I know a Lotta nikkas don't wanna admit it. But Pac was clearly on his way to a mainstream entertainment career just before his death. Had he not died he would NOT still be cutting records and making fools out of these young rappers. He would have spent all of the late 90s and 2000s starring in films, appearing on TV and being a household name. Selling out if you will. Not at all unlike Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, and Ice T.
Everyone has they own fantasy of what Pac woulda been. But truth is he wouldn't have gone in any different direction than all his other contemporaries whose careers lasted.
What if Tone Loc would've signed Bone Thugs?
Pac himself said that he wanted to take a break from music eventually and move on to acting in movies more.I'll say one thing for sure, and I know a Lotta nikkas don't wanna admit it. But. . . what y'all are forgetting is that 2pac & Biggie's deaths is what kind of caused Hip-Hop to grow up on some level.Quoted for emphasis.
He would have went the way of Ice Cube, Snoop, and LL Cool J and been making movies and stuff and would have transitioned away from music into movies and maybe even sitcoms and commercials and stuff.
His death in a lot of ways enhanced his legend. Same with Biggie.
Those guys would have grown out of that street phase like all of there other contemporaries from that era have.
Look at all the people that were hot during that era, all of them are doing other things in life.
I agree him and Big’s deaths left a void in the industry and created the perfect vacuum in the industry that P and No Limit and those Cash Money guys capitalized on. That’s when Southern artists that had always been around making dope music started getting more exposure.But. . . what y'all are forgetting is that 2pac & Biggie's deaths is what kind of caused Hip-Hop to grow up on some level.
Without their deaths, guys wouldn't have been so quick to grow out of their "street phase" and "keepin' it real".
Their deaths were a big part of the reason behind the "bling bling" era, where everybody started talking about money & jewelry.
It was letting Hip-Hop calm down on some level.
