You have to get your degree first. keep your nose clean. I'm in a similar process and nikkas dropping like flies for having just a lil dirt in they're books. Local cops probably aren't held to a higher standard but don't risk it.

I liked it in my first semester, but after talking with my teacher about the field, i couldn't see myself doing it. I've always liked standing on my feet.

Police Department's differ but I can't see this being a problem. If it is, hire a lawyer and have your record expunged (assuming you didn't have a record beforehand and keep on the right path). Actually, you should do this, anyway, so it doesn't come up on any employment you apply for and other instances when someone might look into your background. The offense was so minor, though, I can't see it causing much trouble.

The applicant will want to put the truth down because they'll ask you in personal interviews and in the polygraph interviews. There's nothing illegal about asking if an applicant has done illegal drugs in the past and discriminate on the answer.

Be as honest possible. That lie detector is a mofo. They will determine if you have any mental problems. I was thinking of doing that. But then Lavelle Mixon aired them 4 cops out a few years back
