It's similar but it's different in a lot of ways too

You always have to keep in mind first and foremost that Canada and the United States have two different histories, unique in their own way with very different forms of development that made both countries. That alone plays a lot into the social fabric of a country's identity.

The racism that exists in Canada is more hidden than it is in the U.S but it does exist. In Canada we have "covert-racism". If anything, the First Nations experience the most overt and systematic racism in Canada. The large number of "minorities" living in Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver (not really) and maybe Ottawa. Outside of our major cities, we have a small black population in Nova Scotia that was created via the Underground Railroad in the late 1800s. However, the population of Black Canadians is just a little more than 3%. So because of this, it's very easy for the social, political, and economic aspects of society to be manipulated in a predominantly white country. Sounds familiar?

In Canada, most black Canadians associate their identity with the heritage of their parents native country but if they are born in Canada, will identify themselves very clearly as both. Usually stating: "I'm Canadian, but my parents are from *insert country here*" when asked "What are you?" which all people of color in Canada are asked at some point. No one really just says "Canadian" if you're black.

Again, keep in mind, Canada is a very young country. Our first waves of black immigration, in the hundreds of thousands, only started in the late 1970s. Most of the posters on here are second generation Canadians just experiencing "blackness" in Canada and what that means in our society. In this way, we are kind of similar to black Americans living in urban centres.

As for the bytches :wow: if you a bruh you can eat up here. Mainly because the bad bytches in a "multicultural" city is packed in density. You see all types of just beautiful women of all races walking down any street in Montreal or Toronto, hell even in Vancouver. All types of complexions bruhs.. :mjcry: broads from the Caribbean, soUTh aMERICA, The Middle East, the Motherland, Asia, Southeast Asia :banderas:

Some bad sistas in Nova Scotia too :gladbron:

Low key because Canadians have consumed American media in some form almost daily their entire lives, a lot of the broads here want to fukk with brehs :takedat: and are very open minded to it. I don't know what it's like bagging a broad in small town Manitoba and I would never be out there btu if you in any major city, you will be straight when it comes to the females. That's only until the fine exotic half persian, half Egyptian broad you fukking with persian daddy found out about you and he on that

But I'm sure that exists everywhere. Sound familiar again?

In school.. we mostly play basketball, hockey, baseball and football. Some soccer too. But everyone knows Canada is a hockey country, although we have been producing some talent in basketball lately and we've always had some pretty decent baseball players for a small country. We don't have a strong football culture here even though we do follow the NFL and some Canadians, mostly in western Canada, follow the CFL. I played mostly basketball, hockey and football growing up and played in various leagues. A lot of young bruhs are getting into hockey and we have a few young star black Canadian prospects and that's cool to see in a predominantly white sport. Cacs low key hate it too :lolbron:

As for the middle class.. we don't have a strong black middle class just as yet because as stated earlier, the first generation just gained some footing themselves. If one does it exist, it would be in Ajax, Brampton or Pickering (in the GTA, just outside Toronto).
