It could be a fad. But all TVs going forward will be UHD as i read they are phasing out 1080 sets.

lots of people have 3D capable tvs and dont care. i wouldnt be surprised if 8k is when people actually start caring about moving away from standard blu ray

I had to take apart a co-workers PS3 to get a blu-ray I let him borrow back. I rarely lend stuff out nowadays.
