He's another in a long line of people who are given a cool theme or cool entrance and nothing else. He's also one of the ones sent out there to wrestle random matches and just coast off their "indynational" cred. His debut was in April. We're two days shy of August and I don't think he's cut a single in ring promo or had a backstage interview to get across whatever his character is supposed to be.

The guy is a real life satanist and heavily influenced by the occult, but they don't really do anything with it outside of graphics. I will say that I've enjoyed every match since his debut a lot more than his debut.

An optimist might say that maybe they're saving the character oriented stuff with him for the main roster, where it'll be needed in order for him to get over. They might have learned their lesson from the Bayley, American Alpha failures which stemmed from having too much of their story play out in NXT.

They seem to really like him. Got his own graphics for his intro & last night they had a NXT commercial focused on him being on this week:ehh:

He's in a spot with the character though since his whole thing is he's not really good or bad, he's the grey area in the middle. They been doing that with Asuka since she won the belt but she switches it up & plays whatever role for who she face, Black hasn't really done that since they want to keep a mystery about him so he ain't out here cutting promos.

If I say this I'm a troll but yet this clown @mrken12 daps this

What he said was actual criticism backed with legit facts. You never provide the slightest of either of those unless it's something obvious

Oney Lorcan is another who suffers from the same company wide character and promo issues. Dude has been on tv since February of last year and to my knowledge, he's only spoken once when he took on the legendary luchador El Vagabundo.

I think Oney is dope but he's just a guy. A guy with a first and last name who can wrestle good.

Agreed. Oney is practically a jobber, so he's pretty much an outlier, but everything else still stands. There's ton of guys that have been on NXT aimlessly coasting off wrestling and nothing else. No angles, no promos, no vignettes, nothing. How are you supposed to get invested like that?

Back to Aleister Black - I loved that match vs. Kassius Ohno, but their match in PWG was purely pleasure. If someone can drop the link, I would be much obliged. The link I watched went dead, and all I could find is a highlights clip thing.

They're like my two favorite wrestlers ATM, and I just can't shake the feeling that the WWE's going to screw the pooch with both of them. If they're smart, they'll take Hero on as a trainer at least.

Also, the instagram he and his girlfriend started for his new cat is Nattie-level amazing.

He seems dope. I've been kind of tuned out to NXT, but he was one of the more recent things I bothered checking out and I remember him from the indies.

I used to always mix him up with Marty Scurll though....

...and him being in NXT makes me wonder if that means they won't be bringing Marty Scurll in. :jbhmm:

It's going to be a long time before Scurll is anywhere close to NXT.
