I believe what made the situation worse is the fact that they're not Americans, I'm sure I read that they had to come here because treatments weren't available in Barbados (or was it Bahamas?) and their insurance is different.

I mean fukk, can't we at least come to a compromise and give universal health care to all children below the age of 16 or 18?

We have money to kill people, bribe governments, keep greedy banks afloat, pensions to rich politicians and we can't fukking provide healthcare for our children? I don't care if they come from another country for treatment. It's basic common sense and decency.

According to these poor redneck trailer trash cacs that would be communism...or is it socialism? Man this country is filled with ignorant white trash.

It's a sad terrible situation but the reason the bill is so ridiculous is because of the entire industry being so reliant on insurance to begin with...when companies are paying for things instead of people prices become astronomical in terms of what it should be had their been a true market for these services and products but there isn't. Not to mention these insurances aren't even allowed to compete nationally either. But the truth is you don't need to give universal healthcare to fund those who truly can't afford the healthcare the price of actually funding those who don't have insurance I think was like 25 billion or something small like that...why can't we just create a fund to take care of those who legitamately can't afford it and allow the market to better compete and be able to being costs down with less regulation and more competition. The solution doesn't have to be either extreme a fair compromise where a true need national charity is created when no other funds are available and a thorough way of being able to prove that there is no insurance and no viable income to pay for life saving medical costs...while allowing for more competition from insurance companies.
Shut the fukk up.

....Are you serious? Sure our health care system isn't perfect but socialized healthcare is much....much worse.

You want everyone to pay super high taxes?
You want to wait several months to see a doctor?

The government we have is inherently inefficient and you want them managing our healthcare?

The bolded is what pisses me off. But, as you can see in this thread, people will continue grasping piss-poor reasons against universal healthcare, even for kids.

The bold is the only good point you made.

In Scandinavian countries, with legit governments and politicians, the system works very well. They pay high taxes, but get the best of the best, and no, they don't have to wait for months. They have it much better. Guess what? They spend LESS on healthcare per capita than we do. LESS.

You conservatives always point out the flaws in socialized medicine but ignore the countries who do it right.

:comeon:

Have you ever talked to people in countries that have socialized medicine? I'm guessing the answer is no.

I have friends that live in Canada and they all enjoy it.

Having to wait to go to the doctor>>>>>>Not being able to go at all because you don't have insurance

Do you know what the most common cause of bankruptcy is in the U.S.? Medical bills. Look it up if you don't believe me. And often the people who go bankrupt actually had insurance, just not adequate insurance. I'd probably go bankrupt myself if I had a major medical issue.
