What's easier for making chop up sample beats? An MPC or a program like Reason?

I have Reason 5 right now and for some reason I can't figure out how to chop up samples like how I want to.
I was wondering if MPC's are easier to use for chopping, or do I just need more practice on Reason?

If you can get your hands on Sony Acid then you'll be set. You just load the song, beatmap it, then chop the waves as you see fit. I really don't understand why other programs make it so difficult

Hardware vs software debate question. The Truth is, it's whatever works for you. Whatever you wish to learn will become easier to you. Its all dependent upon what you want to learn. There is no "easier" way to go about it. If you have reason you can always chop samples in Recycle. If you want to expand you can also go with either a Pad Control unit like an akai MPD 32 or the "Machine" You can also go with your MPC. Ect.

Keep working with whatever programs you have and you will naturally gravitate to a particular hardware or software DAW.

Either you are gonna have to get Recycle or upgrade to Reason 7 breh

I chop in Recycle and either use Dr. Rex, NNXT, or Kong playing back samples, but upgrading to the latest version you can edit w/o another software.

But getting MPC Studio or Ren may be an option depending on if you want the hardware . I think Maschine would be better in that scenario

Upgrading to Reason 7 is a must. So many issues are addressed. I already know what you're feeling.

You don't need recycle anymore unless your making .rex files, everything is done in the sequencer and tool window.

This is exactly what I used to do to flip samples, but the hardest part for me was getting it to loop smoothly. I was either hit or miss with that shyt.

:ohhh: I might have to check that out, I don't fukk with redrum tho, I could never figure it out, so whenever I make shyt in reason I just play the drums in myself, quantize, and fukk with em in the sequencer. So naturally, I dont use reason much

outside of chopping, the NN19 and NNXT in reason can both be used like the asr 10

you can sample a lot of ways in reason. the 2 samplers i just mentioned, redrum, dr rex/recycle, kong. there are youtube vids for each way

problem is unless you have 7 you gotta chop elsewhere first

Upgrade to reason 7. Quick chopping and looping.

Download it off the main propeller head site. I think you can use it for free for 30 days.

There is no crack for it so you have spend that bread.

Also check maschine , lightning fast chopping.
