He decided he could do better than working with Game on mixtapes and repping a label that never was (BlackWallStreet) so he took off to Akon.....

Then Akon decided he didn't want to do music because he made a boat load of money off his artists (Lady Gaga specifically) and Ya Boy kind of was left in limbo.

I've heard that he is writing behind the scenes for people but I dunno. Went from hanging out in mansions in LA to not a peep :yeshrug:
Anyone know how much Akon made off gaga and tpain
How did Akon strike gold like that? Two of the biggest artists period (not just urban) in music in the 2000s

I bet some dude $500 like 7 years ago that he would never go anywhere, and just vanish after a year or so, never collected that money, but I saw that coming.....Mixtape 2000's era rapper who didn't have the right time frame, and would have been gold at least in like 04/05, by 2008/2009 that style wasn't marketable in the least, and there was no room for that content or presentation.

Black Wall Street Journal Vol. 1 :wow:

Man that whole tape was fire. BWS clearly the worst crew / label of all time, so much wasted talent that never popped off.

Clyde, Juice, Ya Boy, Techneic, Eastwood, Cyserro, G Malone for that White Lightning album. EP and NJD as producers with DJ Skee pushing the tapes.

Game clearly was never meant to be a boss, great artist but can't start someone else's career for shyt.

game was supposed to be the next big interscope rapper after Em and 50. That's why they set him up with a label deal for black wallstreet, the same way that dre had aftermath, Em had shady and fifty had g-unit. However, 50 didn't like what interscope planned for games career, because he thought that would threaten his position, so he sabotaged him. As a result, game was dropped and handed over to geffen, BWS never received the push it was supposed to get, and game became a b level rapper that didn't have the mainstream status to enable him to start anybodies career.

Def Jam let her walk and Akon snatched her up....it was probably one of the most brilliant moves by someone in the industry in the last 10 years, only bested by Usher signing Justin Bieber. As far as how much he made, no idea but it was enough to buy diamond mines, give poor people electricity in Africa, and pretty much make it so he didn't have to sing anymore. You are talking about a guy who had a ton of hit songs under his belt just hanging it up because he didn't need it to make money...

No reason he couldn't have taken the label to Koch, or at least feature one of his artists on an album. He's clearly not built for that role.

I remember when I thought Juice had next. I kept this song on repeat. This track definitely deserved a world wide release on one of Game’s album or a Juice debut LP. shyt is so soulful :ohlawd:

Prime Kanye on the boards :wow:

That whole mixtape is a classic. Had the boards on fire back in 2006. My first introduction to kendrick and jay rock too.
