What would of been a satisfying end to the original Goldberg streak?

I was satisfied with the way the streak ended

1) Kevin Nash was over as anyone in WCW at that point

2) Goldberg had not beaten him before so it made sense

3) It wasnt a clean win so less damage was done to the Goldberg character

It's hard.

Jim Cornette basically says for simplistic Face/Heel storylines, "It's up to the HEEL to find a weakness and exploit it cheaply." and with Goldberg, there was no weakness. You needed a group to fukk him over. So I think the way how it was done was perfect, but at the same time Nash was a Tweener.

It would basically be Hogan.

It would prevent the FPOD, and maybe give WCW a few more years.

Could have had Hogan beat Nash for the belt in a proper match

WCW back themselves into a corner with his streak

And

Ironically, WWE backed themselves into a corner with The Fiend's streak

The ending was fine. It took the other most protected finisher and a fukking taser to beat him. Nash was getting more cheers than Goldberg at a lot of the shows in the last month or two before Starrcade. It was the follow up that retroactively ruined it.

The problem isn't the streak. the problem is the type of wrestler Goldberg is and then giving him the streak on top of that.

No they didn’t, WCW had the roster to keep the streak going for another 3 years. I would have kept him undefeated until business dropped. Modern wrestling is based on indestructible faces, an indestructible heel has never been as successful

The problem also is...they made Berg but nobody else. As berg advanced to heavyweight title and was up in those ranks battling the already established stars
They shouldve had a couple of dudes right behind him ready to come after him like benoit or jericho
Notice after the streak ended the main event scene went right back to senior citizens Hogan vs Flair :mjlol:

I would say they gave him the title too early, especially as it was clear they had no plans for him as Hogan stayed in the main events for the rest of summer anyway and Goldberg was barely on TV after he won the title. Since Sting/Hogan was a disaster and didn't end the NWO angle, they midas swell have stretched it to Starrcade and have Goldberg win the title there and end it.

Goldberg's rise went from pure jobbers to Raven to Hogan. It really should have been once he got to the US level, he spent the next 3-4 months smashing NWO guys (and there were enough that it really could have gone on that long) until Hogan was the last guy left and then smash him at Starrcade and move on in 1999.
