Cant help but laugh at Confederate flags and Nazi flags being waived by the same people.
And, while we're at it, Trump may love to sit atop a fascist regime, but recent events have made it very clear that the institutions of American government are far too strong for that. Hell, he can't even get his own party to listen to him.

We're lucky the guy who tried was as stupid as him. Someone with a sharp mind who had a clue would've been able to pull it off easily.

Pretty much. All that’s missing is a large scale false flag attack now in the 9-11/reichstag fire type vein. For those unaware, the references to brown shirts is in regards to Mussolini and his supporters who were known as brown shirts when they marched on Rome to take power.

I don't think they'll get far because as loud as they are, they don't really have numbers. What they do have is a lot of gerrymandered districts and a fukked up electoral college that make their numbers look a lot bigger than they are. Eventually losing the popular vote is going to catch up with you

I don't think he will get too far unless there is a massive national emergency requiring "national unity" and suspension of some aspects of rule of law.

I honestly don't think they need a majority though. Just keep most people apathetic and afraid and they can do what they want. The Nazis in the 1930s never had a majority until the Reichstag Fire and the emergency laws let them shut down or co-opt the other parties. In the 1932 election, the Nazis were not a majority in the Reichstag (they only got 37% of seats) but were fighting for control with the Socialists and Communists who had another 35% or so they even lost seats in the November elections later. Hitler became Chancellor through a backroom deal with President von Hindenberg and Otto von Papen who thought he was easily controlled.

The national emergency post the Reichstag Fire allowed the Nazis to sweep the 1933 elections at 43% and then Chancellor Hitler banned the other parties...

This is one thing that scares me; a wag the dog scenario. But the good thing is Trumps base is political not institutional. I don’t think he’ll ever have the infiltration into the ranks of bureaucracy to oylll off that kind of conspiracy.
