Everyone always hypes up Nigerias family values and economy... but this group is still strong.

Nigeria's Boko Haram 'in village massacre
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-26220300

Suspected Islamist militants have raided a Nigerian village and murdered dozens, according to witnesses.

The gunmen reportedly rounded up a group of men in Izghe village and shot them, before going door-to-door and killing anyone they found.

Officials said they suspected the Boko Haram group was behind the attack.

Boko Haram, which claims to be fighting to create an Islamic state in northern Nigeria, is notorious for extreme violence and indiscriminate attacks.

Bodies in the streets
The senator for Borno state, where the attack took place, told the BBC's Newsday programme that 106 people - 105 men and an elderly woman trying to protect her grandson - were killed in the latest attack.

Ali Ndume said around 100 Islamist militants attacked Izghe for five hours on Saturday evening, without any intervention from the army.

He said the military recently withdrew from the area after nine soldiers were killed in an ambush last week.

Let northern Nigeria become an independent state. Nigeria is pretty much a failed state anyway. Their government is a total failure. And the people are disillusioned from their own ethnic and religious differences.

Who is funding this group. Reportedly they are well armed but again, how do they get the funding for weaponry to carry out these operations.

For a while it seemed that finding out who was funding them was an elusive endeavor. This usually leads friends to believe an external hand is at play
http://www.voanews.com/content/boko-haram-funding-remains-elusive/1666150.html

Recently an article on allafrica states they may have a lead as to who is funding this group.

http://allafrica.com/stories/201202141514.html

This followed the recent arrest of key members of the sect and appointment of a new police chief in Nigeria.

Nigerian agents appear to have made a major discovery in their investigations into the sources of funding of the Boko Haram Islamic sect. According to the Nigerian Tribune newspaper, the State Security Service (SSS) and its local and international counterparts have now traced the group's sources of funding to some Al-Qaeda-linked organisations in the Middle East.
:ohhh:

Sadly, if Nigeria does not crackdown on them now, this could be used as a pretext for another external force to invade Nigeria at some point, if they cant get a handle on this, problem.

Its so demonic, friends.

Nigeria: Targeted for Destruction

For Those Who Have Ears to Hear

Sources within the Intel community have confirmed that Boko Haram is getting Intel assistance from senior Nigerian intelligence officials.

To these officials, this is a means to an end.

The danger here is that a monster has been created which sooner or later may go out of control of their political masters.

Certain people are benefiting financially from the current security situation in the country, from inflated security contracts.

One such individual from within the presidency recently placed orders from a North American and Middle East country located near Tel Aviv.

That's a country with over 200 different tribes, each with their own dialect, customs, values, etc.
Tribalism is the biggest scourge on the African continent. These artificial countries were created by Europeans for their own benefits (exploitation) with no consideration about the locals.
Loyalty to your tribe is more important than patriotism, except maybe when the national soccer team is playing (sadly, the leaders have the same mentality too).
Hence, the silly tribal conflicts :aicmon:

That's probably for the best at this point.

You're right, but Boko Haram are terrorizing people strictly because of religious reasons
:ohhh: Everyone tells me that it's top 2 biggest economies in Africa and growing... not a failed state.

What does a country's economy have to do with their religious/political problems?

everything. a wealthy place like arabia can fund terror groups.... but it's the small grimy villages in the poorest nations that produce the most terror... and groups like this. So you would think B H would have popped off somewhere else. Nigeria has the funds and economy to easily control this group.........

Ok but I'm pretty sure that Boko Haram are funded by foreign terrorist organizations so they aren't dependent on the domestic economy.. Also, they target rural areas because of the police/army response lag which allows them to kill and then disappear.
