They were giving the most random cities a pay-per-view that year. Hartford, Louisville, Albany, and Birmingham all hosted one. :mjlol:

SummerSlam in Raleigh, North Carolina. :mjlol:

There were definitely big cities that got a pay-per-view like New York (Royal Rumble) and Philadelphia (Unforgiven), but it seems like most of them were picked out of a hat. Imagine them going to Kentucky or Alabama for a pay-per-view these days. :dead:

Yes a thread about old school wrestling. That's what I like to see :birdman:

And ofcourse KOTR was the first pay per view, my nikka H³ lost the world title without getting pinned!

Looking back on the network, crowds even in New Hampshire used to be hot, now the only hot crowds are NY, Philly, Toronto, LA, Seattle, Chicago, and wherever the post-WM shows are.

They went to Lafayette, LA two years ago and it was the worst crowd I've ever heard.

Raleigh's a pretty big metro now w/a modern arena; Louisville and Birmingham arent exactly small towns, Hartford isnt so big but they have a decent size arena but if Providence and Manchester NH can host PPVs no reason Hartford can't

Albany is pretty random tho not sure how they chose that one

Hartford is also close to WWE HQ as well.

The worst crowd I ever heard was a Raw in Iowa IIRC. I believe there was a thread on here in which it talked about how WWE graded cities and used that to decide if they were going to come back. Unsurprisingly, that stop had graded an F.
