the lack of trust avon and stringer had, it split the organization in to two and caused the downfall quicker. If they went to marlow, it might have been just as quick with police attention etc. or they could have eliminated the comp clean and easy. If they would have stayed about their business, they could have possibly gotten the boy on their side and the co-ops but knowing marlo, he'd have tried to still come for their heads but i think the entire co-op would have been riding with them and could have helped. Either way though i believe them bumping heads and not staying focused then turning on each other killed it for the entire team
I don't think there was any way Marlo would've linked up with the barksdales. Like...a zero percent chance...their crew was too young and headstrong for that shyt...people forget fukkin marlo was bodie's age...and bodie was a little nikka to Avon and them...dude was too hungry too young and too cold to be talked into shyt by stringer, and he had a real disdain for their whole crew.

That crew was the shyt. Marlo's crew with fruit, and that bald nikka who looked like Havoc was wack as fukk. They was strong though with Chris snoop michael, that scrawny nikka and dudes muscled into working for them like bodie.
Bey and Bodie was the trealest nikkas in that show's history

They could've done more than stop them at the rim shop if Avon didn't hesitate right before they got busted. Also, if Avon was home he probably would've sent them goons and crushed them early on. Stringer was letting them get run off corners by Marlo because he felt he was above that street shyt. Marlo gotta lot of lucky breaks.
these two are really one in the same. puttin string in charge was the worst decision the barksdales made. he let senator davis hustle his ass outta all the money talkin bout "the golden goose" or whatever bullshyt he was sayin, marlo punkin his ass, droppin the ball tryna kill omar. the nikka was awful

The writers went overboard on building up Marlo and crew. It's like Chris and Snoop [and then Michael] were the only people in Baltimore with guns and shyt
They'd be like, "Hey, let's go take a walk over here to these vacants" and nikkas was like "Sure 
" And they were murkin' New York nikkas without any fear of retribution? 
And then the Co-op, a group of hardened gangstas and drug dealers, were ALL that shook by Marlo
I know the writers wanted to make things as real as possible, but Marlo's whole rise to prominence seemed kinda
