What was the reaction like when Run DMC switched up their style?

It was a bit of a shock because being hardcore was never needed but it was crazy because passing 30 you are already looked at as passe. But it was still a very good album.

First album I purchased with my own money was Kool Moe Dee and the Treacherous 3.
