I immediately disliked the character as soon as I saw his first appearance in X-Men #282.

His hair looked stupid, his powers signature was pink and weak as compared to other x-men, then we learn he's a descendant of gateway so it's wasn't even clear whether he was black.

Bishop is alright...he hadn't been on fire since the Hope situation. It was funny how fast they had him squash Legion at the end of AoA.

Terrible take.

Movies did everyone the justice they deserve. People just mad that because they decided in 2004 to make cyclops personality a rip off of magneto's that the fans who had been reading about him as a teachers pet since the 80s gonna forget all that history and act like he cool all of the sudden.

A teacher's pet who sonned Wolverine regularly since the 70s.

A teacher's pet who's been g-checking Professor X since the 80s.

I like you as a poster, but this is revisionist history. Scott Summers was always that dude until he got character-assassinated after they retconned the death of Jean Grey behind Chris Claremont's back. No Bryan Singer anything is better-written or more accurate than the two guys who wrote and plotted stories like these:

a-split-image-of-the-Dark-Phoenix-Saga-and-Days-of-Future-Past-from-X-Men-Comics.jpg

...and it wasn't just Scott who was done dirty. You can't justify the way the rest of those characters were treated. :martin:
Kitty Pryde, Psylocke, Bishop, Colossus, Iceman and Archangel were all an afterthought.
Rogue was nerfed, and totally watered down as a character compared to the 80s/90s comics and the animated series.
Storm never got to truly be a leader who handled business compared to the books. She was lowkey the focal character through most of Claremont's run.
Nightcrawler had a spark when he started in X2. After that he was either absent or irrelevant.
Gambit is a fan-favorite character who deserved more than just a cameo in Wolverine Origins (even though I've shaded him in the past).

Wolverine is a dope character, but the fact is that Fox wrote themselves into a corner by throwing every other character in the bushes just to focus only on him for as long as they did. Once Hugh Jackman started gravitating towards other roles, the whole X-franchise fell off because the writers had all their eggs in one basket and thought they knew better than the OG comic creators.

These clowns at Fox really had Mystique leading the X-men and getting top billing over Storm, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Gambit, and Rogue like anybody was trying to see that in theaters:mjlol:

Phenomenal character. Criminally underused. Love his powerset and his look...he's one of my favorite comic characters of all time. He and should be core X-men at this point.
Forge def doesnt get enough love lol

nikka made adamantium armor for Logan so he could finally beat Sabretooth's ass :wow:

I always liked Bishop but I used to be mad as hell that this fool couldn't remember exactly who the traitor was. How you remember everything else but forget that one simple important fact?? :what:

Oh and you can tell by the hair that he ain't FBA :mjpls:

That simple fact doesn't bother me but I know some who would find it... interesting. @Bryan Danielson is one :sas2:

Taken from Uncanny X-men 282, Bishop's first appearance.
It really hits different looking back on the 80s and 90s era...
Marvel hasn't been the same since Jim Shooter's departure and the Image exodus.

Bishop was ok, Shard was meh, Trevor Fitzroy was triple-meh. Basically an okay idea that served as one of the precursors to the multiverse oversaturation that exists now.
