Not the modern style one but the OG cerebral crime solving, freelance, drug addict version who handles interesting cases on there here and there as he chases behind a shadowy team involved in global conspiracy sprinkled with some random F-ery that he gets himself in due to his associates.
Make it a series. It would be perfect for him at this point and also believable as he's hammered this role before but now has the age and wisdom thrown in. Add in Wesley Snipes as a sarcastic Watson who is also his connect and the whole thing writes itself. End season one with him ODing then being greeted by the ancestors and the puters will pute no end once people peep this. Season two begins with his real death and strings people along into thinking the dope got him but its actually set in the future and this seasons works backwards to the last episode cliffhanging and looping in all of the loose ends from the previous investment.
Would take some real slick writing and its obviously not aimed at the basics because the aim is to give you the vicarious experience of mystery and deduction plus keep you thinking as well.
