TV show: Normal People

It's mini-series drama about an Irish guy and girl in an on-again-off-again relationship and friendship from high school years all the way into post-college adulthood. The problem is that all of the girl's boyfriends throughout the series are like cartoon villains. And it was as if, the main male character was the only normal dude in her romantic life.

If there's no black people.

If they make the only black person in the cast also be the representative lgbt one and/or the most one dimensional shyt trope of the bunch... i'm outta there.

I had to turn Ricky Stanicky off after 20 minutes because of this. The only black man in the movie was a gay, unemployed buffoon. I was heated for the rest of my flight.

Movies that try to be too cool. When you can tell they trying to rip off a QT or Scorcese, Snyder etc.

Comedies that bail on a cool premise with terrible jokes that seem to just to be thrown in on a whim or when you can tell the actors are just improvising and not doing a good job of it.

The slight pause (for audience applause) that MCU films insert after a character is revealed to be a high-profile actor.

I’m not stopping a film because of it, but they’re recognizable enough to make me roll my eyes. Especially when the opening week magic has worn off by the time I’m watching it again on Disney+ or wherever at home. Cool to be a part of the grand awe when watching those scenes for the first time in theater, but it’s a little awkward on repeat viewings down the road.

I rarely cut movies off

tv shows are different, I drop shows all time for various reasons

with movies the only time I’ll cut it off is I get bored, start doing something on phone, then I look up and 20-30 mins have gone by and Ive lost interest and not really following what’s happening in the movie anymore

atp I’ll just cut it off

For movies, it's always the gratuitous sex (aka rape) scenes. But if it's your run of the mill movie without the shock porn, it's usually falling asleep more than twice within 20 minutes.

I hate when they break the fourth wall

I hate when the trailer gives me some rock-induced version of a rap song for a movie that is 95% white

Sequels that are spaced 20+ years apart

Movies like The Blind Side that glorify white savior stereotypes

Not a fan of Keke Palmers movies :yeshrug:

Horror movie cliches:
when you just know the white girl is gonna trip in the woods, hide, wait for 5-10 seconds after the killer passes by (like the coast is clear) only to get murdered
