If we keeping it a buck, michael jordan, wu tang, shaq, pop smoke, kendrick lamar, tupac are REAL influencers as they have actually been shown to have influenced people vs these people on social media calling themselves influencers where thats their job supposedly.

I hate to say it but Tariq Nasheed is one. He has people using bussy in their lexicon. Has a certain set of people calling themselves FBA and others tethers.

A influencer is somebody who can change opinions, speech patterns and buying habits.

Yes he is and hes a content creator, like him or not. :yeshrug: same with yvette carnell

Popular people market product that will make people more likely to buy. The term influencer works because those people garner interest of people of a demographic which can be directed to marketing efforts.

Just because it supposedly doesn’t work on you doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

This.

Basically a popular content creator on social media who corporations can pay to market products and influence the opinions and views of the users who watch their content.

For instance if you're a famous soccer player with a social media account you rarely post on but have 1 million followers you're not an influencer. But if you are famous and have 1 million followers because of the content you post like ass pics, or workout videos then you are and attempt to push your followers to buy products you are an influencer.

What does the designation matter if companies are aligning with them on campaigns?

Again, just because it doesn’t resonate with you doesn’t make it not real.

Ive NEVER seen a so called "influencer" influence anything or anybody. :mjlol: why cant they just call themselves for what they REALLY are. tik tok, fakebook, IG worker or whatever.
Their fame is quantifiable. If you reach 100 million views, you are a celebrity at that point. because real celebrities can't even get 100 million people to watch their projects most of the time.

it comes from a marketing term. influencer used to be someone you find in schools or work places; popular people that matter because they are fashionable, experts in something, or have a lot of value in their community/area of expertise.

for example, MJ was an influencer because of the insane skills as a player. Same with the kid at school who always, somehow had the newest sneakers before they were in stores.

companies would try to find them and bring them in for focus groups and/or provide them with prototypes or first editions to test the market.

influencers now are just people with a lot of followers. the more eyeballs people have on you, regardless of your actual skills or opinion, the better.

Charleston White has no actual skills or expertise and is an influencer. Same with Adin Ross and Sneako. They are just shock jocks with a lot of eyeballs. No different from Howard Stern
