true story.
i was working as a cable guy in New England a few years ago.
got called to this dudes house at the end of my shift, nice house out in the woods, older guy. probably in his late 80's, white.
he had some fancy all in one remote that he could not figure out.
technically it was not our problem but i helped him out with it any way...we talked and what not while i was there, he was rather chatty.
dude hit me off with $20.
i drive off but 5 minutes later dispatch tells me to go back...dude fukked up his remote again.
i go back...start fixing it again and explaining what he needs to know...again.
out of nowhere he asks me what my ethnicity is.
i tell him my dad is Spanish, Puerto Rican and Native American.
my mom is English, French and Inuit.
his jaw dropped and he stared at me for a few seconds, then he said something along the lines of:
"do you know that you are the future of America? you have the blood of so many different peoples, so many cultures and that is the future of America."...or something to that effect.
anyway, i fixed his shyt.
he said sorry for calling me back again and gave me another $40.
