i live in florida so it dont get that cold here. But when we have a cold front and the weather drops to upper 40's low 50's we set the heat at 80. I dont remember what we used to set it at when I lived in NYC. If your still cold OP then put it up 1-2 degrees every few hours until it reaches a comfortable level. I dont like to be too hot or too cold. I rather set the heat a little lower and wear a warm fuzzy pajama to warm up.

I'm on the top floor and I have a relatively high ceiling, so I have to jack it up close to 80.

Sometimes, higher than that when I have females over, since they have a lower threshold to cold weather
