Biggie's rhymes weren't freestyles. They were thought of before hand. You nikkas gotta stop being so gullible. No human alive is freestyling those records big did. You dont have to store rhymes on paper, you have a brain that u can use as well.

It's simple actually. Just think of a line or two. Memorize it. Rinse and repeat till u get to 16 bars then repeat the process over again for the other verses. It's also easy to do this while recording, because you can punch in after a line or two and build it all the way up to 16 bars or wateva you want for each verse.

I used to :ohhh: when I heard Jay or Biggie didn't write. Now it's :manny:

I spit from time to time & if you driving or something, playing a beat, I can write a good portion of it in my head. 1 line, 2 lines, before you know you got a verse. The most I might do is write it all down afterwards on paper to refine it. Now if I can do that, then its no wonder why people who are the best at the craft (Jay, Big) can do it with no problemo.

However, I do hate that rappers think of it as a fashion statement now. Nobody wants to hear your incoherent babble. Take time. Think of all the music we missing out on because every nikka wants to do this. Imagine if Nas or Kendrick did this shyt. You cant write records like "The Message" or "HiiiPower" without putting it down on paper.

most of what was labeled as a freestyle in the past 10 years is a written or memorized rhyme spit for the first time. actual freestyling, you can almost always tell.

Exactly, just cause it works for Jay-Z doesn't mean TI and Wayne had to start doing that sh1t :snoop: now I saw a quote from Big Sean about something like this on Mercy.. no wonder... take 20 mins and write some sh1t down brehs

Supernat's freestyles aren't technically great. They are dope for being off the top, but u can tell they are off the top. Listen to a biggie or jay-z verse, none of em sound like some on the spot shyt.

Because they're not.
