Don't get me started
personally I don't think anyone should work while going to college
your job is to immerse yourself in academia for about 4 years
you are to attend colloquia, to spend time sharing ideas, doing research and coming up with great questions to mine the minds of your professors

most people who work through college don't ever realize what they traded in for those part time hours at the fryer
it is so hard to explain this to those who don't know what they are missing or missed

I am going to hold my tongue because I could (and tend to) go on for days on the topic, it genuinely saddens me when I consider how much intellectual potential is wasted because of this status quo.

What you talking about? SPEAK UP in the public and make these crooks hear your frustrations.

Yep. Sometimes we gotta take mortgages for a damn education. :snoop:
Damn. We do have some schools here (mostly business schools) for which we have to pay for but they are private usually. I don't understand that one has to pay for higher education but that's from a European point of view.

Cause these greedy administrators think that college should be reserved for the few people. They scamming America from their wealth and they are a part of the elite that does this to keep people in debt and working frantically to distract them from injustices. Very :demonic:

Corporatism trying to pass for capitalism again eh...:snooze:

How would you reform the relationship between government and private correctional facility providers to make it "capitalism" instead of "corporatism"?

Throw the Citizens United ruling in the bushes and take away any lobbying or sway on local governments/legislature...
A big issue is that now States are underfunded because of poor book keeping and worse spending practices and the Federal Government being "broke" so they turned the spigot off. All the costs that the States used to reimburse Counties for example county jails and costs associated with state prisons in their districts are no longer funded. Most counties can't afford their jails because the tax base is too low, there's the same problem with education actually now that I think about it...
Charter Schools = Private Prisons :deadmanny:.

Overall it's a corrupt business that shouldn't be allowed to exist in the country. Nearly everyday you see a new scandal.
If you're incarcerating so many people that you can no longer afford to do it, it's time to look at the model and laws that you're enforcing.

I asked him, not you. Public financing of all campaigns whether federal, state or municipal would be the first step but most libertarians would scream bloody murder at restricting the "free speech" rights of corporations.

I didn't realize you had quoted someone I thought it was an open statement.

It's extremely frustrating.

If a corporation is a person then why can't they be executed or required to have morality or compassion?

You would think that if you were running a country you would want everybody to be educated for free to make the smartest country. But that's not how the elite stays on top :manny:

(Respectfully snipped for emphasis)

I could not agree more
Yes, we need one now. You have the government locking people up for expressing political ideas on twitter now :wtf:
As much as I hate Big Brother and NSA I think in years to come it will finally be the last straw and a reason for people to revolt

Hopefully feds ain't listening :lolbron:

Politically there is no realistic way, but they could remove the Gov. overhead and restructure the contracts in a way that guarantees payment to those facility that meet an agreed upon set of standards. These standards could include various quality of service incentives.
Basically attach payment to quality of service(as the market does) and you should be fine*. Evil, Sinister capitalist will ensure they get paid, you just have to make sure the public gets what they want from the deal.:blessed:

unrealistically, you'd remove victimless crime altogether, remove govt. oversight, and let it ride. :shaq:

:ld:Compared to what? and at what cost?

State prisons experience the same corruption at a much higher cost to the public... I think you maybe missing the point all together.

That's the crux of it, speaking on school. I have under 70 stacks owed for my MBA and BBA to Sallie Mae. Pretty much sold my soul to the devil but in this world, you have to, just for the opportunity. I work in the field I have my MBA in and I teach curriculum in the field that I have my MBA in. It works but trying to ascend to greater heights has been a challenge.
