The game gear is another black sheep of the sega lineup that shouldge been more successful. It had a great library, made gameboy look like a joke hardware wise. It even had a working TV tuner at one point. The Nomad wasnt so bad either.
I cant evrn imagine what the portable gaming market would be today is Sega if they beat Game Boy and had success to fall back on there. They wouldve been big.
I remember getting the Game Gear for Christmas. Had Sonic 2 (which was a version of itself), and some other games. I got a AC adapter as well because holy hell the Game Gear ate through batteries. While, the Gameboy had the handheld game on lock, Game Gear had a certain charm to it and felt innovative. Most of the games I played on the system felt legit compared to the Game Boy where it was a handful that really caught my attention.
