It seems like Sony never addressed when the release date of these trials happen. Since nothing regarding the original announcements states the release dates for Trial games. All-new PlayStation Plus game lineup: Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Demon’s Souls, Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, NBA 2K22, and more join the service

Might be something mentioned only to devs, since I can't find any source pointing to it. The best I found was this Timed game trials are now required for some PlayStation developers

They have up to 3 months after the game releases to release a trial.
