Did you make sure to click apply as well?

Yeah. Actually found a solution online. Turns out it was a Windows 7/8 thing:

Right click My Music folder > Properties > Customize tab > In "What kind of folder do you want? Select "General Items" >Check also apply this template to all subfolders

i need something new to mess with..i was using Itunes the last few years because of the layout but it started making my computer act up and i dont have an iphone/ipod anymore so i sent it to the bushes
